Harlem Sculpture Gardens – St. Nicholas Park

Janes Walk

Led By Savona Bailey-McClain AND Savona Bailey, Executive Director & Chief Curator, West Harlem Art Fund

Join us on Friday, May 2nd rain or shine, as we stroll in St. Nicholas Park to see the outdoor exhibition Harlem Sculpture Gardens. At this local public park, visitors will see eight works by artists David Sheldon, Peter Miller, Fitgi Saint-Louis, Bridget Conway, Joseph Bochnyski, Ayala Naphtali, David Karoff and Richard Brachman. All of the sculptures are abstract in nature where various materials have been used for fabrication. West Harlem’s cultural, demographic, and natural history are the inspiration for the show. Learn how resiliency measures were incorporated to stem climate change impacts. Understand the importance of seeing diverse art in a neighborhood of color and that local residents spurred this effort. Wear comfortable walking shoes and dress appropriately to weather forecasts.
