We will examine the Prospect Expressway from its complicated intersection with Ocean Parkway to its central section as an elevated trench. We will explore the quirky necklace of park spaces that were created when the highway right-of-way sliced across existing city blocks.
The walk will conclude by meeting another walk group exploring the western half of the same highway led by Severn Clay-Youman. Read more about that walk >
Accessibility
Walk is approximately 1 mile in length over NYC sidewalks. Walk does include using a pedestrian overpass which must be traversed via lengthy ramps.
