Community Garden Ramble…Off-the-Beaten-Path in the East Village

Janes Walk

Led By Deirdre Newman

This walk will take us to a few of my favorite community gardens to find respite from the noise and mayhem of the city streets, while talking about what these gardens do for the community. Community Gardens have been around in this form since the 1970s and have contributed so much to the fabric of city life in the neighborhoods where they are located. In the East Village, there is a community garden on nearly every block.
