Downtown Brooklyn’s Historic Resources

downtown brooklyn fulton mall new york city
In response to the 2004 redevelopment plan for Downtown Brooklyn, MAS examined the planning and preservation needs of this core area. Because the City’s plan could put the area’s historic resources at risk, MAS, in conjunction with the Brooklyn Heights Association, identified buildings that should be designated as landmarks and advocated for their protection. To date, of the 28 buildings identified, only four have been designated by the Landmarks Preservation Commission.
