The Municipal Art Society knows that young people are the lifeblood of the city, with the ideas and energy to greatly impact its social, cultural and economic landscapes and shape its future. Through our Urbanist membership program, MAS seeks to empower hundreds of impassioned individuals early on in their careers by providing a platform for them to connect with one another and engage with the critical issues that concern New York’s livability and resilience.Urbanist members are a diverse group, coming from a wide array of industries and professions; what brings them together is a shared passion for New York and commitment to making it a better place to live, work and play. Through premier events that range from screenings and panel discussions to book signings and tours, Urbanists are afforded the dual opportunity to meet and socialize with like-minded urban enthusiasts while educating themselves on any number of issues. They are invited to attend celebratory and thematic events each year.
The signature events include:
- The prestigious After Dark Party, that follows the presentation of the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Medal at MAS’s annual gala, this year to be held in the esteemed Grand Central Terminal.
- The annual two-day Summit for New York City held each fall and featuring a robust schedule of presentations from industry leaders and experts who are driving progressive ideas in city building and civic engagement.
- Annual Friends of the Arts Party in December.
All Urbanist outings are announced via email to Urbanist members, so sign up today! For more information, please contact Stacey Anderson, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
MAS would like to thank our 2013 Urbanist Sponsors for their generous support:
