Livable City Award Winners Announced

livable city new york awards urban planning 2011MAS proudly congratulates Gospel for Teens, ioby, Riverpark Farm, Storm King Art Center and Urban Samaritan, winners of the 2011 Livable City Awards, honoring the organizations and projects that have made New York City a better place to live. Angela Elie, center manager of the Detective Keith Williams Recreation Center in Queens, is also being honored with the W. Allison & Elizabeth Stubbs Davis Award for extraordinary dedication to the community. Former Parks Commissioner and MAS Board Member Gordon Davis founded the award in honor of his parents.

These extraordinary organizations and people make New York the vibrant, creative place it is, said MAS President Vin Cipolla. Without their commitment to addressing urban challenges and enriching the city’s cultural environment, New York would be a much less interesting and productive place to live.

The winners will be honored at a private ceremony on the evening October 13, as part of the MAS Summit for New York City.
